March
2009
In March
2009 the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law hosted
several important events dedicated to international
commercial arbitration. The first of them was the promotion
of the book “Arbitration and ADR” by Professors Gašo
Knežević and Vladimir Pavić. The promotion took place
in the beginning of March and it represented an excellent
introduction to the events that were yet to come. From 27 to
29 March our Faculty hosted the “Belgrade Arbitration
Conference”, as well as the Regional Round Table dedicated
to the international trade law. At the same time, our
Faculty organized the “Belgrade Open Pre-Moot”, the
students’ moot competition intended as preparation for the
Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration
Moot, which is one of the world’s largest and most
prestigious moot-court competitions held annually in Vienna.
All these events gathered a great number of domestic and
foreign participants, including some of the world’s most
distinguished experts in the field of international
commercial arbitration and international trade law. Such a
large attendance and the high quality of the presented
papers which discussed some of the most challenging topics,
when combined with the impeccable organization, helped the
University of Belgrade Faculty of Law to establish itself as
one of the leading centers for international commercial
arbitration and international trade law
in the region.
